• Lake Minnetonka Regional Park - 4610 County Road 44, Minnetrista, MN 55331
  The "purifying" powers of its waters were a legendary reference in Purple Rain, but there's no doubt about the inspiring beauty of Lake Minnetonka Regional Park, just minutes from Minnetrista homes for sale. See the various parts of the park along 3.5 miles of trails that also connect to community trails. Leashed dogs are allowed on paved paths, so bring Fido along for company. No fees are charged for use of the trails. Park hours are 6 a.m. - 10 p.m. daily.

Runners love the spacious 13-acre park that offers lots of room on its trails along with stunning views of Lake Minnetonka. During summer months, bring a lawn chair and blanket to enjoy a post-run show in the Summer Concert Series at the band shell. Hours are 6 a.m. - 11 p.m. seven days a week.
  
  
• Dakota Rail Regional Trail - 5515 Lynwood Blvd., Mound, MN 55364
  Run along a piece of Minnesota history when you hit the Dakota Rail Regional Trail, which is easily accessible from Mound homes for sale. Part of the 13-mile paved trail traces the route of the former Dakota Rail Corridor, which ran between Minnesota and South Dakota. For another 12.5 miles of paved trail, head west of St. Bonifacius to Mayer. The dog-friendly trail is open daily from 5 a.m. - 10 p.m.

  In the Land of 10,000 Lakes, water is a beautiful backdrop for many outdoor activities around Excelsior. Lake Minnewashta Regional Park encompasses 340 acres along the shores of one of the area's most popular lakes, with several miles of both paved and turf trails. Leashed dogs are welcome, and after your run, you can let your pooch romp in the 18-acre off-leash dog area. As of December 1, 2019, vehicle permits have been discontinued so there's no entrance fee. Park hours are 6 a.m. - 10 p.m. daily.
  
  
• Wekota Park - W. Point Road, Tonka Bay, MN 55331
  Wekota Park, adjacent to the beach of the same name, is within walking distance of Tonka Bay homes for sale. Enjoy a tranquil morning run along the wide, tree-lined paths in the park. Cool down with a stroll along the beach alongside iconic Lake Minnetonka.
